Sally Edney owns and runs a private clinic in Reno, which opened up in 2015. Years of professional experience and price affordability are just some of the things that make her a great pediatrician. However, the lengths Sally will go for her patients is truly amazing. Reporting for the Reynolds School of Journalism, Nick Larson dives deeper into this story.

As patients squeeze in the front door and file up the staircase, they are greeted with a unique sense of comfortability and fun. Two things you don’t usually experience at a doctors office.

Sally Weare Edney Children’s Health Clinic is located on Willow St., just outside of downtown Reno.
This private clinic is owned and operated by Sally Edney, a nurse practitioner who wields a lifetime of experience. Her passion for helping people can be traced back to her own childhood.

Sally says, “My parents were medical missionaries in Africa and I spent four years of my school aged time in Africa. They ran a little hospital. So I mean I saw my parents doing this work and not being paid much, but it was helpful to the local people.”
Sally’s patients are exclusively children, ranging from birth to 19 years of age. When asked about her choice to focus on kids, her response is one that would comfort any parent.
She says, “I like kids.”

Sally lets noting deter her passion for helping people, not even a language barrier. She saw an opportunity to better connect with her patients.
Sally says, “And when I first came here I got a job at the community health center in pediatrics because that was my specialty and I worked there for sixteen years and I love the kids and mostly Hispanics so I learned Spanish.”

Everything from the curtains to the toy chest reminds you that kids are the center of attention here. Parents, look no further for your child’s pediatrician. Sally Weare Edney Children’s Health Clinic is a place where kids are healthy and happy!

Excellent article and great information.
